Meet LaRen Johnson — Founder of CinePath Studio
LaRen Johnson is the founder and CEO of CinePath Studio. With more than ten years of experience in independent filmmaking and video production, LaRen founded LJ Picture Productions and has worked across narrative filmmaking, documentary, music videos, and commercial production.
LaRen created CinePath Studio after experiencing firsthand the challenges that beginner filmmakers face. Without connections to the film industry, without access to expensive film schools, and without mentors to guide the process, LaRen had to learn every aspect of filmmaking through trial and error over many years. CinePath Studio was built to give every aspiring filmmaker the structured guidance, professional tools, and supportive community that did not exist when LaRen started.
The mission of CinePath Studio is to democratize filmmaking education and make professional-quality filmmaking accessible to everyone regardless of their background, location, or budget. LaRen believes that every person has a story worth telling and that the tools to tell that story should not be locked behind expensive film schools or industry gatekeepers.
In addition to CinePath Studio, LaRen is involved with Fork and Frames, a nonprofit organization, and CreatorFloor, a platform for digital creators. LaRen can be found on Instagram at @ljpicturez and through the LJ Picture Productions website at ljpicture.com.

A Letter from the Founder — LaRen Johnson
CinePath Studio exists because filmmaking should not require connections, wealth, or permission. LaRen Johnson built this platform after spending more than a decade learning filmmaking the hard way — without mentors, without film school, and without anyone to show the path forward. Every feature in CinePath Studio was designed to solve a real problem that independent filmmakers face: not knowing where to start, not being able to afford film school, not knowing how to find grants, not having a community of fellow filmmakers to learn from, and not having access to professional-quality tools. The mission is simple: make filmmaking accessible to everyone with a story to tell.
